initially planned to ask this on reddit but am too lazy to make a burner. last night i suddenly thought about a youtuber i watched years ago who's name i don't remember and have had no luck finding. he was this typical overly cheerful gaming(?) youtuber, but then after some time, wiped his channel and revealed in a new video (or maybe a livestream) that it was all an act in an attempt to blow up and make money. that might not be a fully accurate description as i don't remember the specifics, but yeah. i know for a fact the reveal video happened in 2017 at the earliest and 2019 at the latest, because i remember i was playing botw while listening to it (released in 2017), yet it was definitely before quarantine.
